Aricept Description
Donepezil tablets, marketed under the trade name Aricept (Eisai), (Pfizer), is a centrally acting reversible acetylcholinesterase inhibitor , used in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease . Dosage:
Aricept taken orally is avialable for oral administration in film coated tablets containing 5 or 10 mg of donepezil hydorchloride .Inactive ingredients are lactose monohydrate, corn strach, microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose and magnesium stearate. Precautions:
ARICEPT? is reported to be contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to donepezil hydrochloride or to piperidine derivatives. Drugs that inhibit or Induce CYP 2D6 and CYP 3A4 may affect the concentration on Aricept .It can interact with certain medications. Aricept may interact with some of the medicines used during surgery or dental procedures and cause unwanted side effects. Aricept may cause dizziness or drowsiness, or have blurred vision. People under this medication should take precaution while driving or operating heavy machines. Aricept may cause hypotension (low blood pressure) and make patient feel light-headed when they stand. Side effects:
